If you’re out shopping for someone who owns a successful business, sometimes it can be difficult to find something material that they would truly enjoy.  One thing that I would like to see normalized is the gifting of growth materials.  These often aren’t physical things you can hold, but they make a huge difference in anyone’s daily life.  Here are a few gift ideas that business owners especially, will appreciate this holiday season.

Stocks/Assets

A lot of business owners are looking for ways to get their money to work for them.  One of the easiest ways to do that is investing.  Luckily in this 2020 holiday season, doing so is easier than ever.  With apps like Robinhood making it easier to invest and trade, anybody can get into it.  In order to buy stock or part of a stock in a company for a loved one, just go to stockpile.com and follow the instructions there.

This one may sound pretty bland but depending on the person, and what kind of business they’re in, a planner can be a super underrated gift!  In the crazy time that was 2020, I think we all realized how hectic things can get and how important it is to have backup plans in place.  A planner and guide is a great place to start.  They’re not only for planning day to day activities but also for setting goals every month through the year!

Ask them what books they have heard about in their industry that they have not read yet and keep that in your mind as a gift idea.  There’s a reason certain books get talked about and they’re bound to learn something from them.  It’s kind of an exercise in novel gift ideas but definitely worth the plunge.  Here are a few that help with general motivation and professional growth:

Therapy lamp/ Happy light

These products are perfect for anyone who has been working from home or in an office extensively, especially now that the winter months are coming up.  Therapy lamps give off light with a similar radiation to sunlight which we don’t get sitting inside during the daylight hours.  

Lack of sunlight can lead to vitamin deficiencies, skin problems, and even affect our mental states.  Getting a therapy lamp and getting that exposure for just a few hours a day during work hours is great for curing that seasonal depression a lot of people get with little sunlight.  This also means improved productivity and mood for the day onward which anyone who works a lot would appreciate!

Last but not least, an Audible Membership

I know I already talked about books but not everyone is a reader.  It’s still important to digest new information as humans and business owners so an Audible membership might be the way to go!  You can listen to a book on the way to work or while you find some downtime during the day.  Either eay, they can finally listen to that book their peers have been talking about since that keynote speaker mentioned it and be in the loop!
